What is a certified Pedorthist?
Canadian Certified Pedorthists are orthotic and footwear experts. Pedorthists (C Ped (C)) are one of the few healthcare professionals trained in the assessment of lower limb anatomy and biomechanics. With specialized education and training in the design, manufacture, fit and modification of foot orthotics and footwear, Pedorthists help to alleviate pain, abnormalities and painful conditions of the lower limbs and feet that, if left untreated, could result in limited mobility.
Custom Foot Orthotics
A custom foot orthotic (CFO) is a device that can be inserted into a shoe to support, align, prevent and/or accommodate foot deformities, and improve foot function. Used in conjunction with appropriate footwear, a CFO can be effective in helping to treat many foot and lower limb problems including heel, arch and forefoot pain, and complications related to other health conditions such as diabetes and arthritis.
To determine if you are a good candidate for CFO’s, an assessment is needed with a Certified Pedorthist to discuss your options and create a treatment plan. Call 423-4244 today to book your no obligation website assessment.
